Be bold with this bright Red Kazuri Earring & Necklace Set. Made by women in Kenya, every bead is shaped and painted by hand, making each piece of jewellery unique and original.
Kazuri was set up over 30 years ago and now employs over 300 local women in the village of Karen, a few miles outside of Nairobi in Kenya. The women get free transport to and from work, and a few of them make beads from home as well.

The necklace is made in Peru by Allpa, an organisation which helps to provide livelihoods for families in craft production.
Allpa (a Quechua Indian word that means ‘earth’) works with families across Peru, including people living in the Amazon rainforest area. For most of these people, craft production is their only source of income.

Made by the Youth Empowering Youth Outreach program (YEYO) which works with young people in Cape Town, South Africa, to empower them through working with arts and crafts.

Made by Touch of India, based in New Dehli, who carry out much of their work with minorties and produce accessories with an unusual combination of embroidery, patchwork, buttons and beads.
They use recycled textiles and saris to make a great range of high quality accessories that not only support the local women and their families, but also keep their traditional patchwork skills alive and thriving.

This beautiful Ting ting ceramic bead necklace is made using round, highly polished beads, each one approximately 2cm in diameter.
Made by Kazuri Beads in Kenya. Kazuri, which means small and beautiful in Swahili, employs over 300 local women.
Every bead is shaped and painted by hand and then kiln-fired once, glazed and fired again before being strung by hand.
Many pieces take on the quirks and trademarks of the individuals who shape the beads, paint them or string them, giving them soul as well as beauty.

Electric Blue Glass Bead Necklace
This eye-catching Electric Blue Glass Bead Necklace has been handmade by employees of a fairtrade company in Zimbabwe.
The supplier is dedicated to provding employment for women in difficult economic circumstances. They are provided with an on-site creche for little ones, fair breaks, steady pay and transport .
Because it’s made by hand, every necklace is slightly different. Glass and foiled beads are knotted onto thread to secure them, and finished with a metal clasp. The necklace comes in a matching organza bag and would make a lovely gift.
